It's a Plane, It's a Plane

For my sons first birthday I wanted to choose a theme that centered around something he was interested in - well as a one year old you never know.  I decided on Airplanes !  Whenever one flew over head (which was all the time since we live near an Airforce base) he would look up and point - voila a theme!!

A party always starts with an invitation and I am still convinced paper invitations are the way to go.  I searched on etsy for an airplane ticket invite and found it at Nounces.  She really worked with me to create a personal invite.

Enjoy unprofessional pictures from the party.

When every kid checked in -they got a GJT airplane sticker.
Fun Foam airplanes were hung from the light and I made a happy birthday banner out of scrapbook paper.
The birthday boy wore a custom red jon jon from Izzyb online
A year in pictures - I started with baby pictures of my husband and me then showed G at every month. We had to have Philadelphia Pretzels - in G shapes of course!

Cupcakes for everyone - Toppers were airplane pics or the #1.
Favors were luggage tags and up in the air bubbles.  I handmade the luggage tags using a 3M product from an office store.  Printed each guests name and address then added fun stickers before laminating.

The birthday boy is not so sure of this cake!
